Loving Our Neighbor II

Habitat for Humanity will be building a home for Nancy Clifton. Nancy is a single grandmother who has custody of her five grandchildren. We are asking congregations of all sizes to partner with Habitat for Humanity in a variety of ways.

• Pray
• Volunteer
• Support Habitat financially
• Raise awareness of the need for adequate housing.
• Help find land in the Ebenezer Elementary school district.

Habitat’s ministry is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, we must love and care for one another. Our love must not be words only- it must be true love, which shows itself in action. Habitat provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action. We bring diverse groups of people together to make affordable housing and better communities a reality for everyone.

Nancy Clifton Family

My name is Nancy Clifton.  I am a 68-year old great grandmother who has been blessed by God with the opportunity and the responsibility to raise all five of my grandchildren.  I now have parental custody of my 3-month old great grandchild.  I thank God for my family and the roof over of heads.

For almost 10 years, I have raised my grandchildren in the same rented mobile home.  The mobile home is old and has only 3 bedrooms.  This house no longer meets my family’s needs.  The A/C has failed several times, and mold and mildew are constant problems.  One bathroom is not useable due to the mold problems My family is suffering the consequences of living in this  environment.  We desperately need a home where my grandchildren can grow up to be healthy and all that God wants them to be.
